Terminals have had graphics in addition to text in the past. https://ctx.graphics/ is a vector rendering framework, that along with providing floating point and CMYK compositing, explores modern vector graphics in terminals. Implementing in and part of ctx is a terminal engine with standard DEC/ANSI escape sequences and a custom vector vocabulary providing a network transparent implementation of the HTML5 Canvas 2D drawing vocabulary, with inter-frame compression.
