Travel

For us, free software is part of a broader philosophy of thinking in eco-systemic terms – live, work and consume in ways that support living wages, foster cooperation, and contribute to minimizing our environmental footprint. As local organizers of LGM 2019, we adopt a „zero waste“ approach, integrating whatever measures can help us make this happen. However, there is only so much that can be done locally – decisions regarding travel play a major role in that effort. If there is a choice between modes of transportation, we encourage you to choose the one with lower environmental impact. Depending on the outcome of our sponsorship efforts, we might even be able to cover CO2-compensation measures ( www.atmosfair.de ) for those who receive travel stipends – stay tuned for updates.
